Who I am
Hi, I’m Melissa, and I’m passionate about supporting families in their journey to optimal health and wellness. For the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children in the field of pediatric nutrition, starting at prestigious large teaching hospitals, including Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, where I worked in their pediatric critical care units and diabetes education. This initial exposure to critically ill children and the complexities of pediatric care laid the foundation for my career, which later expanded into specializing in rare genetic diseases of metabolism. I then spent three years at Boston Children's Hospital, working in a variety of nutrition specialties, which further broadened my knowledge and allowed me to support a diverse range of populations and disease states. Now, I offer private, personalized counseling to meet the unique needs of each family.
I specialize in creating tailored nutrition and lactation plans that are completely individualized and free of judgment. I believe in meeting families exactly where they are, helping them achieve their specific goals—whether it is choosing to breastfeed or formula feed, managing food allergies, supporting healthy weight management, addressing picky eating, or guiding families through complementary food introduction or feeding difficulties. Every family’s needs are unique, and I’m here to provide compassionate, evidence-based guidance to help ensure your child’s growth and development.
In addition to my nutrition expertise, I’m deeply committed to supporting moms throughout their breastfeeding journey. Whether you’re navigating challenges with milk supply, latching, or simply adjusting to a new feeding routine, I work closely with you to create customized nutrition plans for both baby and mom. My goal is to make sure moms feel empowered, supported, and confident, no matter how you are choosing to feed your baby.
As a mom of two young children myself, I understand firsthand the challenges that come with feeding and nourishing little ones. I’ve personally navigated many of the issues I work with daily, such as picky eating, food allergies, and managing a healthy feeding routine. This personal experience helps me approach each family’s journey with empathy and a realistic understanding of what it takes to find success.
I use only evidence-based nutrition advice and work with families to create actionable plans that fit seamlessly into their lifestyles, always focusing on what’s best for your child’s growth and your family’s overall health.
